About this tour

Deo Tibba base, the base camp for Deo Tibba peak, is a moderate level trek and offers some of the amazing views of Deo Deo Tibba, Jagatsukh and Norbu Peak. It’s a complete trek with a variety of landscapes like alpine forest, green meadows, waterfall, moraines and much more. The trek is also known for the lake of Chota Chandrataal.

How to Reach Rumsu Base Camp ?

By Bus/taxi: Take a bus headed towards Manali from Delhi/Chandigarh and get down at Patlikuahal stop(20 km before Manali) and take a taxi to Rumsu. Taxi charges are Rs 500-700 per vehicle (7 seater) 

Free Pick Up facility is provided by Kailashrath Treks till 9 AM for Rumsu base camp at Patlikuhal.

 

Itinerary

Day 1 - Reporting at Rumsu base camp

Up on reaching Patilkauhal, pick up facility is available till 9 am to Rumsu base came. All the participants will undergo registration process. After breakfast; proceed for acclimatization walk.  Later come back to the campsite for lunch. Post lunch there will be a general orientation on techniques and awareness. Overnight at Rumsu base camp

Day 2 - Rumsu to Chikka

Start your day with a delicious breakfast and leave with other participants to Khanol village by jeep. Khanol will be the point from where the trek starts to Chikka. The trek route takes about 6 – 7 hours to reach Chikka campsite. The trial will lead you through a lot of wild berries and naturally formed streams. Up on reaching Chikka, you will come across a small stream taking a shape like a snake where a naturally formed Shiv temple is constructed. Camping and littering is however now allowed near the temple. Overnight in tents at Chikka campsite

Day 3 - Chikka to Seri

After breakfast and proceed for todays trek to Seri. The trek route takes about 6-7 hours leading through jungle and a rocky patch. Seri is a vastly spread meadow almost as big as 3 football ground together. You will also come across a beautiful waterfall here. Overnight in the tents at Seri campsite

Day 4 - Seri to Deo Tibba Base to Tenta

Start early for the trek today. At about 6 am the trek from Seri commences; this beautiful trek will lead you through a steep climb and a river. It takes about three hours to reach Tenta. From here you will witness the mesmerising view of Deo Tibba and Indrasan peak. After taking a break, start ascending to Deo Tibba base camp; it takes another three to four hours to reach Deo Tibba to a fantastic view. Overnight stay in a tent at Deo Tibba base camp

Day 5 - Exploring chota-Chandrataal

After breakfast, proceed to Chota-Chandrataal. It takes about 4 hours to reach this beautiful lake. All the participants will be given packed lunch to eat by the lake and head back to Tenta campsite. Overnight stay at Tenta

Day 6 - Trek back to Chikka

Post breakfast; start heading back to Chikka. It is a 11 km easy trek from Tenta to Chikka. It takes about 4 -5 hours to descend from here and it is quite simple. After reaching chikka base camp, the participants can have a leisure time and enjoy bonfire. Enjoy the last dinner with fellow participants, as it is the last day of the trek.

Day 7 - Descend to Jagatsukh and Departure

Start the day with a lovely breakfast and descend from Chikka to Jagatsukh. Up on reaching Jagatsukh; all the participants will be transferred to Manali by Jeep. Make sure you book your return bus post 5 pm from Manali.

Things to Carry

Trekking shoes: Do not carry a Sports Shoe. Carry good trekking shoes with grip. Make sure it is a water proof trekking shoes with ankle support.

Three layers of warm clothes: Two or three-layer jackets, fleece jacket and a padded jacket

Two/Three trek pants: Carry light cotton trek pants. Avoid denim/jeans and shorts. They are not suitable for trekking.

Three t-shirts (collared/dri-fit): It is advisable to carry a Full sleeved t-shirts to prevent sun burns on the neck and arms. Carry one or two dri-fit t-shirts.

Thermals: Carry thermals (top and bottom).

Sunglasses: There will be lot of snow on the trek which can cause snow blindness. Thus Sunglasses are mandatory.

Cap: At high altitude, the sun is extra harsh so carry a cap to protect you.

Water proof hand gloves: Carry water proof gloves and avoid woollen gloves as they will get wet if you touch snow.

Socks (3-4 pairs) and a pair of woollen socks: Apart from two sports socks, you can take a pair of woollen socks for the night.

Headlamp/LED torch: Mandatory

Raincoat/Ponchos: At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that you don’t get wet. The trek will continue as planned even during rainfall. Your poncho should protect you rain. Carry a backpack cover for extra protection from rain for your belongings.

Lunch box and water bottle: Every participant should have their personal lunch box and a water bottle [insulated type].
