About this tour

Known to be the southern tip of India, Kanyakumari is a beautiful place where one can witness the confluence of three great seas – Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. It is also one of the rarest places to witness sunrise and sunset at the same beach. It is considered to be one of the ancient cities that can be traced back to as old as Sangam period belonging to 5th – 3rd BCE. Since the age-old times, Kanyakumari is considered to be one of the significant centres of religion and tourist purpose. From being a unique geographical location to offering pristine beaches, temples and churches, there are tourists flocking in almost throughout the year.

 

Itinerary

08:00 am: Meet the driver at the hotel. Proceed for one day tour to Kanyakumari

10:30 am: Arrive at Kanyakumari; the first stop will be Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amman Temple also known as Kanyakumari Temple dedicated to Goddess Kumari (Young Parvati). Estimated to be as old as 3000 year old.

11:00 am: Next leave for Vivekananda Rock Memorial by ferry (on own). This rock memorial is built in honour of Swami Vivekananda who meditated on the rock for 3 days and attained enlightenment.

11:30 am: Take a short ferry ride to reach Thiruvalluvar Statue. This is a statue of a great Tamil Poet Valluvar. The statue is elevated at height of 133 feet.

12:00 pm: Take a ferry back to the mainland. From here go to the Government Museum; the museum is home to ancient exhibits of southern rulers artilleries, dolls, musical instruments, kitchenware, paintings and sculptures.

12:30 pm: Gandhi Memorial is the next tourist attraction very close to the Museum.

01:00 pm: Proceed for Lunch

02:00 pm: Post lunch,  Drive to Vattakotai fort. This beautiful fort is an 18th century fort built by the Travancore kingdom, later was revamped by the Dutch. Fort offers extensive view of Western Ghats and Vattakotai beach

03:00 pm: Leave for Vattakotai beach. Relax by the beach for some time; it is a perfect beach to click marvellous pictures.

03:40 pm: Proceed for Padmanabhapuram Palace: Built on the foothills of Velli hills, Padmanabhapuram palace is a granite fortress.

04:30 pm: Leave for Thanumalayan Temple – is a stunning temple dedicated to God Shiva, Vishnu and Bramha

05:30 pm: Stop at Sunset point and witness the tranquillity. Later leave for Thiruvananthapuram

07:30 pm: Drop off at the hotel in Thiruvananthapuram.
