Dotted with numerous temples dedicating to Lord Shiva, Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in India and safely can be considered as one of the oldest cities in Indian sub-continent. It is considered to be one of the sacred places in India, believed to be created by Lord Shiva himself 5000 years ago. Lying on the banks of the holiest River in India, River Ganga, plays a significant role in what the city and culture it is known for. Having being the most sacred cities in India, Varanasi has been seeing people from all over both International tourist and domestic tourist thronging to this ancient city to witness the ancient traditions and practices of Hinduism. One of the must do things in Varanasi is to witness the evening aarti by the Ghat – banks of River Ganga. It is one of the most surreal experiences. Although one will come across a number of temple in each corner of the street, most significant of them all is Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

 

Itinerary

09:00 am : Meet our driver at the hotel and proceed for your Local day trip in Varanasi

09:30 am: Enjoy a boat ride on the holy river of Ganga. Boat ride on the majestic river ganga is an enchanting experience. It is a must try experience one must go through.

10:30 am: Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Lying on the banks of river Ganga, this sacred temple is one of the most visited and temples in India. It is considered to be highly sacred temple that hosts upto 3000 devotees every day.

11:45 am: Visit Sankat Mochan Temple; dedicated to lord Hanuman was built in the early 1900s. This temple is famously known for its delicious Laddoos as prasad.

12:45 pm: Lunch on own

01:45 pm: Visit Durga Mata Temple and Bharat Mata Temple. Located just 2 km from Banaras Hindu University, Durga Mata temple is well-known temple dedicated to goddess Durga. You will see hundreds of monkeys flocking nearby. Bharat Mata Temple is another significant temples in Banaras that is glorifies Bharat Mata Idol. It depicts the mountains, hills, rivers, oceans of the country. People of all faith come visit this beautiful temple to pay respect to the freedom fighters.

03:00 pm: Visit Banaras Hindu University. Established in the year 1916, Banaras Hindu University is a premier institute of higher studies in India.

04:00 pm: Dashashwamedh Ghat visit. It is here were you will witness the famous Ganga Aarti performed every evening. The pooja is conducted by seven pandits, where is ritual involves rhythmic chanting of mantras, prayers and hymns every evening

05:30 pm: Return back to the hotel after a wonderful day tour.
